Pricing & Profit
Cost, price, and profit
Cost is what it takes to make the print. Price is what you charge. Profit is what is left after costs and marketplace fees. PrintProfit3D estimates those from the numbers you enter — not from past sales.
Cost covers filament, power, packaging, and any labor you choose to count. Price is the listing or quote. Profit is price minus those costs and the shop’s cut.
The Print Profit Calculator estimates your costs and suggests a selling price based on the information you entered. That suggestion is a starting point. If you later sell below it, or fees are higher than you assumed, you can earn less than you planned — or nothing.
Other tools reuse the same idea. Product Profitability compares Saved Products using the costs and prices you saved. It does not know how many you sold, and it is not a bank statement.
If a result looks like you are giving the print away, check costs, fees, and the price you actually charge before you cut the listing.

Quick tip
If the suggested price feels high, the print is expensive to make — or the margin/fee mix is tight — not “the calculator being mean.”
