Why multicolor prints cost more
Color changes throw away filament that never stays in the model. The plate can use far more plastic than the figurine looks like it should.
On a single-color print, most of the filament becomes the part. On a multicolor print, the printer has to switch colors. Each switch dumps some filament and often prints a small extra tower so the next color comes out clean. That extra does not sit on the model, but you still paid for it.
AMS / Multicolor Waste exists so you can split “what’s in the model” from “what got purged, towered, or supported.” Your slicer’s total filament is the honest number for the whole plate; model grams alone will underprice the job.
You do not need a Bambu AMS for this to matter. Any tool-changer, multi-filament, or color-swap setup has the same kind of waste. PrintProfit3D’s tool name says AMS because that is a common setup, not because other systems are ignored.
The tool can check your model-plus-waste against a slicer total. That is a sanity check. It does not connect to the printer or change the slice.

If the slicer total is much higher than the model weight, the difference is the job — price it, do not ignore it.
